FAQ

1. What is a checksum?

Checksum is a special number - the most common last digit barcode. It is calculated according to strictly specified (although generally well known) algorithm based on the remaining digits in the barcode. It is used to validate the read code. Both the printer and barcode scanner must know the algorithm for calculating the check digit for different types of barcodes.

Part of the barcode types obligatorily contains the check digit (eg. EAN8, EAN13, UPCA, UPCE), while others may or may not be.

If the barcode contains a check digit and is mandatory (the aforementioned codes) are any code scanner verifies after reading the last digit and sends the code to the computer only when it is correct (thus concluded that the code has been correctly read).

If the check digit is not mandatory for this type of code - it's the scanner is usually an option to force the verification and the user can turn it on. As long as this option is not enabled - scanner sends the code to the computer, regardless of whether the code is contained in the check digit or not.
After switching weryfikaji is often able to decide, whether the code is to be sent to the computer after it has determined that the scanner, correctness check digit, or send in spite of non-compliance with the algorithm.

2. The scanner reads codes but does not transmit them to a computer or a till

POSSIBLE CAUSES:

Damaged keyboard connector (PINS bent in the plug)

SOLUTION: straighten or replace the cable pins

Incorrect configuration of the scanner

SOLUTION 1: Re-load the default configuration:

  • Read the Code 'Enter / Exit' (on the beginning of the programming handbook)
  • Read the code 'Recall Defaults (located on the beginning of most instructions)
  • To end the programming process, re-read the Code 'Enter / Exit (begining of the instruction)

SOLUTION 2: Turn the keyboard emulation (readers MS-9520/40)

  • Read the code 'Load Keyboard Wedge Defaults (located in the' Keyboard 'on p. 71 or H1 depending on the instruction)

 

1. Poor quality print and difficulty in printed barcode decoding

PROBLEM: Low quality print leads to dificulty in barcode decoding.

SOLUTION:

  1. Clean!
  2. Clean!
  3. And again: CLEAN!

It is the key that label printers operates in a clean environment. Printer's Mechanisms must be clean all the time! Pay extreame attention to the cleanliness of the printhead and the rollers inside the printer.

 

1. The printer is having trouble with loading new cards

RELATED TO: P210, P300, P310, P320, P420, P520

SOLUTION: Shuffle the cards. This should solve the problem.

 

2. Poor quality print issues

RELATED TO: P210, P310, P320, P420, P520, P620

SOLUTION:

  1. Clean!
  2. Clean!
  3. And again: CLEAN!

It is the key that card printers operates in a clean environment. Printer's Mechanisms must be clean all the time!

If you dropped the card at any point - it should not be used for printing no more!

Pay extreame attention to the cleanliness of the dirt collecting roller and the rollers inside the printer.

 

1. Poor contrast / black screen / blank screen / can not see anything on the terminal's screen

SOLUTION: It may be caused by incorrect contrast setting.

To perform the adjustment press and hold down the FN key and then press one of the arrow keys.

3. How to submit a service request (RMA)?

Customer after-sales support is very important to us, which is why we've created a simple RMA service request system. You send the request online and label the package with the generated system label. That's it!

How to submit a service request? Just follow these 3 simple steps:
1. Log in to the customer portal on the Koncept-l.pl website
2. Fill out the service form
3. Print the RMA label

4. How to register a return for purchased items?

Returns are registered through the RMA procedure. After logging into the Customer Profile, you'll have the option to register service requests and process returns for purchased or rented items.

Steps to make a return:
1. Log in to the customer portal on the Koncept-l.pl website
2. Choose the "Service Form" option from the "Service and Services" tab
3. Select the "RMA" tab from the side panel
4. Add a return and then add the product
5. Enter the invoice number and verify its accuracy with the "Check" button
6. Fill in the details of the returned item and click "Add"
7. You can add another product or continue the process by selecting "Next"
8. Provide the return address if the item does not meet the return conditions
9. Confirm whether the item meets the return conditions and press "Submit Return"
10. Confirm the return registration by clicking "Yes"
11. The system generates a confirmation with the assigned RMA number
12. Print the label and place it on the outside of the package with the returned item
13. Send the package to the address indicated on the label
14. You can track the progress of the process in the Customer Panel

The user-friendly Customer Panel allows you to carry out the return process for purchased items, provided it complies with the terms of the withdrawal from the agreement. The returned item must be: complete, without signs of use, undamaged, packaged in its original packaging, properly prepared for shipping, in a commercial condition, turned off.

5. How to add another company representative?

The system allows for the company account to be managed by multiple representatives, but the primary account belongs to the person who first created it for the organization they represent. Before adding another representative one needs to find the information of the person who first registered themselves into the system, and as such became the internal administrator for the company’s data.

After finding the person’s information and using their credentials to log into the internal company data administrator one needs to head to the Client’s Zone, and then:
1. Select the „Employees” tab from the menu on the left.
2. Click „+add employee”.
3. Fill in the new representative’s email address.
4. Afterwards, the activation email will be sent to the provided address.

6. I want to open an account, but the system says I have not created an account.

The most common cause of the error message: „Account has not been created. If the error persists, contact the administrator” is trying to register a company already added to our database under their VAT identification number. What to do?
1. Verify among your employees, whether they have already registered the company in our system.
2. Find out what email address has been registered.
3. If it’s possible to find out who registered the company in our system, ask them to add your email address as another representative.

7. I keep trying to reset my password, but the email doesn’t arrive.

No reply to the password reset form for at least 20 minutes usually stems from the given address not being in our database. What to do?
1. Verify among your coworkers, if they had registered the company in our system.
2. Find out, which email address has been registered.
3. If it’s possible to find out who registered the company in our system, then it’s the person who can add your data to the database and add you as another representative.
