Zebra printers compliant with the EU RED directive – new security features in Link-OS 7.4.2

Zebra Technologies has announced that, as of 1 October 2025, all printers launched on the EMEA market will be equipped with new security mechanisms that meet the requirements of the EU RED (European Radio Equipment Directive). The changes apply to devices running Link-OS 7.4.2, which will receive a set of features that enhance data and hardware protection.

EU RED is a key European legal framework regulating radio equipment, including printers with wireless communication modules. The new guidelines place a strong emphasis on securing transmission processes, strengthening access control and protecting against unauthorised changes to settings.

As a result, Zebra printer users in the EMEA region benefit from an even higher level of cybersecurity right from the initial device configuration, making it easier to meet stringent industry standards and legal requirements. With these updates, the manufacturer ensures full compliance of the equipment with the latest EU regulations without compromising ease of use or printing performance.
