Transport and logistics
Transport and logistics are currently the most important links of each enterprise. They generate the largest costs, and if not properly managed can even cause losses despite appropriate prices for the production or purchase of a product. Moreover, they require employment of additional personnel and generate piles of unnecessary paper. Modern WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) allow for significant improvement of all logistic processes taking place in a production or distribution company. However, a good WMS product is only half of the success. The second part is the implementation of the logistics system, which includes:
- Logistics analysis - covering all processes of a company's logistics chain from procurement through warehousing, production, distribution and sales.
- System design - preparation of a system design adapted to the customer's financial capabilities, his specific needs resulting from the analysis of logistics and additional needs of the customer supported by a professional selection of equipment that takes into account all the factors of the working environment. We are talking, among other things, about the right choice of data terminals, both the handheld ones and the forklift ones. Also the label printer is currently one of the most important elements of the warehouse infrastructure, and its proper selection can significantly improve logistic processes.
- Parameterization of the system - an operation performed after the contract is signed, which consists in preparing the WMS to the customer's requirements specified in the system design (the scope of work includes adjustment of the database architecture, parameterization of control algorithms, preparation of necessary reports, interfaces with ERP and MRP systems)
- Installation - detailed configuration and hardware installation at the customer's site, software installation and commissioning of software servers, possibly integration with existing systems.
- Supervised work and training - the prepared WMS must be tested in terms of algorithm operation, ease of use and cooperation with the delivered equipment in order to start working properly. This is the time to introduce extensions which were not precisely specified by the customer at the design stage. At the same time it is an ideal time to conduct user training, during which comments are collected on possible improvements of the user interface.
- System commissioning - properly implemented logistics system with installed hardware is the basis for system commissioning. Acceptance and performance tests of software and hardware are then carried out, on the basis of which the customer has the assurance that he received what he expected.
- Service - the last stage of every implementation is its servicing. The development of our customers makes it one of the most appreciated stages during which we try to provide support, development and further optimization while providing remote administration services.
