The best solutions for forklifts: ET80/ET85 and XSLATE tablets

Choosing the right solution for working on a forklift is often a tough nut to crack. We have a choice of traditional trolley terminals: these devices are connected to a trolley power supply or use UPS stations and dedicated assembly systems. Thanks to the special design and protection of the casings, they can work inside and outside the warehouse, without fear of dust or water getting inside the terminal. Due to the fact that most of these solutions are permanently installed, it is necessary to connect wide range of accessories, such as barcode printers, wired and wireless scanners, and various measuring instruments. The limitation of permanent installation in a forklift is the lack of continuity of operation in the case of a failure and the need to service the entire system. Therefore, tablets seem to be an interesting alternative, as they are more universal and can be detached from the vehicle and used separately. The mobility of tablets is very important in the context of their servicing. The devices can be delivered to the service without any problems, eliminating the need to involve technicians on site. Their additional advantage is that they allow, optionally, the use of security in the form of special fasteners that lock the whole thing with a key, so that no unauthorized person will take the device. The functionality of tablets can be expanded with various types of holders, extensions, keyboards, barcode readers and much more.

The ideal solution that can be used on a forklift is a tablet from Zebra Technologies from the L10 series called XSLATE. It has an extensive docking station that allows you to connect additional elements such as a bar code reader or printer. Mounted on a forklift or other vehicle, it makes it a real command center. The reinforced structure allows the tablet to be used both indoors and outdoors, and thanks to the bright screen also in the sunlight. Thanks to the frame made of magnesium alloy and the corners secured with elastomer, XSLATE can withstand falls from a height of up to 1,8 meters. The 2K display with a diagonal of 10,1 inches is protected by Gorilla glass. The L10 series representative is tested in accordance with the requirements of the MIL-STD-810G standard and has an IP65 tightness class. Working in temperatures from -20°C to 60°C takes place without any problems. The tablet is equipped with many communication standards: NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, GPS, LTE 4G. The highest quality of the materials, components and technologies used means that we do not have to worry about work efficiency. XSLATE can handle the most difficult tasks in all conditions.

It is also worth paying attention to the extremely solid tablets Zebra ET80 and ET85. These devices are available both in a standalone version and with a detachable keyboard. They are distinguished by 12-inch, easy-to-read QHD displays (2160 × 1440). ET80 and ET85 are extremely durable and can easily withstand falls, impacts, precipitation, intense dust, high temperatures or extreme frost. Their screens are additionally reinforced with Corning Gorilla Glass and remain insensitive to strong vibrations, so they can work on forklifts or in cars. Thanks to a wide range of accessories (including pads, shoulder straps, handles), they can be adapted to the individual needs of the user. ET80 and ET85 offer advanced wireless connectivity: Wi-Fi 6E, LTE 4G/5G and Bluetooth 5.1. The efficient PowerPrecision+ battery ensures continuity of work without worrying that we will not perform scheduled tasks.
