At the beginning of the 2024/2025 school year, paper student IDs will be replaced by plastic cards. All student ID tags issued after July 13th this year will be in this new format. Paper documents issued before this date will not be invalidated until the student’s graduation, provided it has valid stamps. The goal of this new regulation is to modernize student identification in polish schools. The regulation pertaining to „plastic” cards has been published in 2018, and schools had the choice whether to adapt to the new format or to continue using the old one, and starting with July 2024 all must be plastic.
The traditional method of manual application of student data by the secretary's office will be replaced by the advanced technology of thermal transfer or thermal printing. The advantages of cards used in this process are definitely better resistance to abrasion or water resistance. In addition, with the right technology, the plastic school ID card can also serve, for example, as a monthly ticket for public transportation.
The introduction of plastic identification cards for students is a major step forward in modernizing Polish schools. It requires investing in new equipment, but has the advantage of facilitating the process of generating and issuing documents. Choosing the right equipment or the ideal printing service provider is crucial, especially given the need to ensure the security of students' personal data. School ID cards will be printed using dye-sublimation and retransfer printers, which we have on offer.
